The origin of the Millefeuille

The Millefeuille has French origins, as the name suggests. It's made of three layers of puff pastry, alternated by crème pâtissière, often covered with glaze.

Its origin are unknown, the first appearance is on the "Cousinier francois" book, by Francois Pierre de La Varenne, 1651.
